Los Gigantes can only be described as a "busy quiet" village!

It lies at the base of the cliffs from which it gets its name literally "The Giants"

At the base of the cliffs is a small and very popular black sand beach boasting a superb fish and local cuisine restaurant called Jessi's ideal for a leisurely lunch or evening meal savouring the view of Atlantic breakers.

The village is on the south west coast of Tenerife and boasts the most favourable climate on the island.

It is approximately 40 minutes from Tenerife South Airport (Reina Sofia) and 1 1/2 from Tenerife North (Los Rodeos), Los Cristianos ferry port is 3/4 hour away giving links to La Gomera and El Hierro.

It has a wealth of shops, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets both within the village and a short distance away in its neighbouring resorts of Puerto de Santiago and Playa de la Arena. (Which has a blue flag beach) Ranging from tapas bars to gourmet restaurants of all cuisines, Canarian, Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Indian and good old fish & chips and sunday roasts if thats what suits you!

There are also several banks, cashpoints, internet access points and supermarkets (one with home delivery service),car hire offices, excursion agents and bureau de change offices all within the village.

The area is well served by inexpensive taxis and a user friendly bus service, the taxi station is adjacent to the Los Gigantes Hotel and the bus stop is outside the Leisure Centre.

A journey by car will take you to the "Dragon Tree" at Icod de Los Vinos and into the National Park at Mount Teide (Spains highest peak) and to the internationally acclaimed "Loro Park" zoological theme park.

You can get a ferry to La Gomera from Los Cristianos which takes appx 45 minutes

Los Gigantes itself does not boast a strong nightlife scene although there are a couple of music bars, for nightlife you will have to stray to Playa de la Arena.

There are dolphin & whale spotting trips from the harbour, hiking clubs, scuba diving lessons in the Oasis pool and tennis coaching available at the Leisure Centre, for golfers the course at Abama is 15 minutes away.

Really you dont have to stray far for maximum enjoyment!
